Candidates for
CRD Director & Island Trustees
On November 8, 2014 the Pender Island Recycling Society (PIRS) sent the following e-mail introduction and list of solid waste management questions to each of the candidates running for CRD Director and Islands Trustee on the Penders.
PIRS is now providing you with copies of these questions and the candidate’s unedited answers, for your information.

Please note. PIRS does not endorse particular candidates.
E-mail letter to all candidates:
Good morning candidates.
Pender Island Recycling Society has been a significant part of and a leader in our community since 1989. For 25 years, we have been advocates for the natural environment and promoters of the 'preserve and protect' philosophy. If you weren't already aware of this fact, the Society was initially formed to address waste management issues on our islands. We write you today as part of our ongoing efforts to play a significant role in our community in an area where we have long been considered an important contributor.
During the All Candidates Meeting on November 1, only a couple of our questions were drawn, asked and answered. As a result of this, several questions remain unanswered with respect to your position, thoughts and details concerning our call for the creation of a locally-managed Solid Waste Management Plan for the Penders. We ask that you take some time during the next couple of days to answer the questions listed below (also attached as a Word document) and return your answers to us by Tuesday, November 11.
Our intention is to make your answers available to Pender Island Recycling Society members so that they are clear as to what your position is on the development of a locally-administered Solid Waste Management Plan for the Penders. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your ideas with Pender Island Recycling Society and its members.
Best regards,
Pender Island Recycling Society
